Twist, bend crook, twist together with scrap red pipe cleaner then formed into a bow.

More Christmas ornaments;
Paddlewheel and bead wreaths, strung on pipe cleaners.

Saturday, December 26, 2009

Ah, what lovely madness Christmas has been.
People popping in and out; in person, over the phone and even web cam!
This is what holidays are for - to stop the mad dash of normal days, and let folks know you love and appreciate them.
Gives one a chance to pause for a moment and say 'Where did the year go?'
Even with holidays, the years spin by so fast - How the heck did I get to be this age already?! I am still 26 - SO THERE! (When things don't hurt, LOL )
HOPE ALL HAD A GOOD HOLIDAY, WHICHEVER YOU CELEBRATE!

Some 'gold', 'crystal' and 'pearl' dangling ornament baubles.
I always liked the Victorian trees with the jewelry on them, so I made some. Several look like they would make nice earrings, with different hangers.

Sunday, December 20, 2009

Perler bead snowfolk.
The bodies are supposed to look like fabric.

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

Christmas cookies for the apartment house. Red and green sparkling sugar flattened balls; the red ornaments on the trees are colored dough added before baking, the white garlands are frosting.
There were also red-dough stockings, yellow-sugared bells, and green-frosted mittens.

Step 1. Cut each doily in half.
Step 2. Fold corners to middle, creating a 90 degree triangle.
Step 3. Fold triangle in half, making a 45 degree triangle.
Step 4. Cut Slit Parallel To Open Side To Create Wings.
Step 5. Fold Each Wing Up & Out.
Step 6. Bend Tip Down To Create Head.

Winter Tree in Perler beads, 2008.

Monday, December 7, 2009

Perler bead quilt-inspired pieces. The pink flowers are really translucent red beads.

Sunday, December 6, 2009

Perler bead angels.

Saturday, December 5, 2009

Christmas card #18.
Tree is green foil with gold foil splashes and filigree, red foil words.

Thursday, December 3, 2009

Christmas card #17. Merry grunge Christmas.
All marks are foil - words are gold, slashes are sparkling red, green and gold.
You can see the colors better on the large size. Just click to see.

Christmas card #16. Make a wish snow dancer.
Words are pale blue extra-fine glitter, flame is gold foil.

Christmas card #14. Joy in patchwork.

Sunday, November 29, 2009

Christmas card #13. Merry Christmas teardrop ornament.
The gold leaf words are showing up as black. I guess it was too shiny.

Saturday, November 28, 2009

Christmas card #12. All hearts come home for Christmas.
I'm not quite sure why the top right looks bent, the card is fine. It must have been a little crooked on the scanner.

Christmas card #11. You light up my life 2.

I'm not sure if I should leave it alone, or put a star on top.

Christmas card #6. Three red birds. Eh, 3 French hens have been done to death.

Saturday, November 21, 2009

Finished cards #1 and 2.

Saturday, November 14, 2009

Here are the finished ornaments for the swap. Hubby made the little candy ribbon ones, the dolls are mine.

Friday, November 13, 2009

Making a few prototypes for our Christmas cards.
Don't laugh now, I've never made iris folding cards before.

Thursday, November 12, 2009

A little tired of posting Perler beads, so I'm putting last year's fall peanut butter cookies.
-
Those are supposed to be schoolkids, not clowns, LOL. Used a gingerbread person cutter and a maple leaf pancake ring. They're covered with peanut butter buttercream, the heads of the turkeys had added cocoa and powdered sugar to make a dough, the eyes and feet are whole cloves.

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Four little Perler bead gingerbread boys and girls. I like the dark brown boys best.
The basic shape came from a cookie cutter.

Monday, November 9, 2009

Here are some Christmas Stockings.
They look about like they would be anklets.
I created these first, and then adapted them into the witch shoes.

Friday, November 6, 2009

Continuing the Perler beads with some evergreen trees.

Thursday, November 5, 2009

Our Cat Ginger sitting on the rug in the front room window.
Created on the large hexagon board.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

Two little winter birds in the snow.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Back to Perler beads.
This is a funny little moose.
Not my design, adapted from a piece of fabric.

Thursday, October 29, 2009

Yet another fuse bead black cat, this one with a pumpkin.

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Mummy cupcakes with buttercream bandages and gummy Lifesavers for eyes.

Monday, October 26, 2009

I came across this picture of some paper twist ladies I made a few years ago. I had found a little sisal (I think) witch at the store, and recreated her in paper twist. These three went around a cauldron for Halloween, then the two on the right went in my Thanksgiving display.
There were a bunch of them for a while, but most have been given away. These are the only ones left. The witches hair is a sheet of paper twist, the blond has hair from a fraying Christmas ornament, and the gray hair is from my hairbrush!

The matching scarecrow smilie to the devil.

Saturday, October 24, 2009

A Devilish Smilie. It looks splotchy from the scanner; but is, in reality, solid red.

Been working on some backgrounds. Here's Autumn Tile and Night Sky.
